What You Will Do

- JOB SUMMARY

Supervises the operation and maintenance of boilers, compressed air system and HVAC equipment. Maintains a safe working environment for personnel and equipment.

- WHAT YOU WILL DO

(This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the Company)

  • Maintains steam, compressed air, and HVAC systems to meet usage requirements. Schedules maintenance for boiler equipment, compressors, and A/C systems.
  • Develops and directs power plant activities toward operating improvements.
  • Administers the bargaining unit contract as it relates to assigned personnel and provide a high degree of leadership for the bargaining unit employees.
  • Maintains good communications with manufacturing management, staff groups, outside suppliers, and contractors.
  • Implements company safety and environmental policies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or related discipline and 2+ years of relevant work experience or Associate’s degree in Management or related discipline and 5+ years of relevant work experience or High school diploma / GED and 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Related experience to include:
    • Supervisory experience

Knowledge of:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.
  • HVAC, compressed air systems, boilers

- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or related discipline and 7+ years related work experience
  • Related experience to include:
    • 5+ years’ supervisory and/or managerial experience within a union environment.
    • Tobacco industry experience.

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Requires physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves moderate to heavy weight objects (10-50 lbs.).
  • Reach and grasp objects / hand eye coordination.
  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Static positions for extended periods of time:  Standing
  • Prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Identify and distinguish color and shades of color.
  • Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury.
  • Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape.
