ITG Brands carries at its core, the mindset that, to succeed, a company must treat its people well and give them the tools they need to win.  We are currently searching for a Tax Accountant II for the Corporate office located in Greensboro, North Carolina.


In this role, you will work with and report directly to the Director of Taxes and under general supervision will be responsible for maintaining tax records and the preparation of tax returns to comply with income tax, excise, sales & use, and licensing requirements.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers information needed to prepare tax returns, tax return analysis, respond to inquiries and tax audits. Provides support with special projects in all areas of taxation.
  • Prepares estimate of quarterly state income tax payments minimizing cash tax outflow
  • Prepares federal and state income tax returns including detailed analysis of federal book v tax differences and state support schedules
  • Supports response to document requests received from state income tax audit examinations
  • Maintains the US group’s stock basis / earnings & profit analysis.
  • Gathers data / supports preparation of international transfer price studies with external advisors
  • Provides support with preparation of state tobacco reports imported from ERP system
  • Prepares Escheat reporting including importing data into compliance software
  • Provides support with the preparation of with state tax audits, including state inquires
  • Conducts tax research to identify solutions, determine tax savings, and recommend strategies to improve profits
  • Monitor federal and state tax changes suggesting policies that reduce tax burden
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field of study
  • 3+ years related work experience



Knowledge of:

  • Tax laws and regulations
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills
  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:


  • Master’s degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field of study
  • Experience working in a corporate tax environment, accounting firm, or government service (IRS or state government)


Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)


Work Environment and Physical Demand:


  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).
  • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.
  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.

  • The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $74,000
